STORY | PURA UTZ is a Denmark/ Guatemala- based ’empowerment project’ by Anna Andrés (a former nurse) and Bernabela and their team of 50 Guatemalan women weavers. Meaning ‘pure quality/ pure good’, all products are produced to honor and create a sustainable income for the women weavers on their team. On a mission to connect the world, Pura Utz creates pieces that honor the Mayan weaving tradition and colorful perspective, and at the same time are modern and relevant for the international market.
